Junior Company

The Junior Company is an audition-based program for talented performers aged 11+ with strong foundations in singing, acting, and dance. Students advance their musical theatre skills through intensive training in vocal techniques, choreography, acting, and stage presence.

Program Requirements:

Minimum two years in SMASH Rising Stars program (or one year plus camp participation)
Current or previous formal dance training
Strong vocal skills and character development abilities

Junior Company students perform in their own dedicated production and may appear in Company and Rising Stars shows, maximizing performance opportunities through our comprehensive musical theatre classes.

Jr Company Placement is Complete for the 2025/2026 Season

Where: Smash Studio A (#5 3033 king George Blvd)

Time: 2 hours per week (+ extra time during show months)

Ages: 11-15

Instructor(s): Sheila Reader, Cassandra Reader-Romo

Schedule: Junior Company rehearses on Tuesdays from 345-545 pm

The Jr Company will perform in their own 1 hour show and act as ensemble for all Rising Stars Shows. The Jr Company may also perform with The Company in their mainstage performance.

The Company

The Company Program provides premier musical theatre training for advanced performers aged 16+. This year-long program develops comprehensive skills in stage directions, improvisation, theatre vocabulary, vocal techniques, and choreography.

Placement requires invitation or evaluation, ensuring participants have extensive theatre experience and demonstrated commitment to the arts. Students must be prepared for intensive musical theatre classes and advanced performance expectations.

The program culminates in a full-length musical production where Company members showcase their advanced training through solo performances and ensemble work.
