The Star Collective: 10-Week Musical Theatre Program in South Surrey & White Rock

Singing, acting and dance for ages 4 to 13, ten weeks at a time.

The Star Collective is SMASH Theatre School's 10-week musical theatre program for kids and tweens in South Surrey and White Rock. Each session is a complete, self-contained block of training in singing, acting and dance, finishing with an in-studio showcase for family and friends. No audition, no year-long contract, and no experience required.

Sessions run three times a year (Fall, Winter and Spring), so families can join when the timing works and carry on session after session. Many of our Star Collective performers roll into the next session, and many go on to our Full-Year Performance Program when they're ready for a mainstage show.

Three levels, one program

Every Star Collective level runs on the same 10-week schedule and the same non-competitive philosophy. Students are grouped by age so the material fits where they are.

  • Scenic landscape of a lake surrounded by mountains and rolling hills with patches of grass and bushes.

Little Stars (Ages 4 to 7)

A joyful first step into musical theatre. One hour a week of story-based singing, movement and acting games that build early confidence.

    Tuesdays 3:30 to 4:30 pm or Saturdays 9:00 to 10:00 am | $199 + tax

  • A modern house sitting on a grassy hillside with snow-capped mountains in the background under a cloudy sky.

    Starbrights (Ages 7 to 9)

Where the fundamentals start to click. Students learn full songs, simple choreography and scene work, and start performing as an ensemble.

    • Tuesdays 4:45 to 5:45 pm or Saturdays 9:00 am to 10:00 am

    • $199 + tax

  • Starlights (Ages 9 to 13)

    Starlights (Ages 9 to 13)

    • $395 + tax

Why a 10-week program?

It fits real family schedules. Ten weeks is long enough to learn something properly and short enough to commit to without rearranging a year.

It's the lowest-pressure way to try musical theatre. Kids who've never sung in front of anyone leave the first session performing for a room. Kids who already love the stage get structured training between camps and shows.

It's a real pathway. Star Collective is built to roll over. Students can repeat a level, move up as they age, or step into the Full-Year Performance Program and our May mainstage productions.

It's the same teachers, same studio, same standards as every other SMASH program. This isn't a watered-down version of what we do. It's the same training in a shorter container.
