Everyone’s Favourite Ogre Comes to the SMASH Stage
Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the hit DreamWorks animated film and Broadway musical. When Shrek’s peaceful swamp is invaded by a group of fairy-tale misfits, he sets off on an unexpected adventure to reclaim his home.
Along the way, Shrek meets a talkative Donkey, a princess with a secret and plenty of familiar fairy-tale characters in a funny, high-energy musical about friendship, acceptance and discovering what makes each of us special.
Two Programs. One SMASH Production.
Bringing Shrek The Musical JR. to life gives our performers the chance to dive into a larger-than-life world filled with memorable characters, big musical numbers and plenty of comedy.
Throughout the season, performers build their skills in acting, singing, dance and ensemble performance as they work together toward a full musical production. It’s a chance to grow in confidence, build friendships and experience the excitement of bringing a story to life on stage.
