Swimming with Joy: Congratulations to Our Finding Nemo Stars!
Just keep swimming, just keep swimming - and that's exactly what our incredible Rising Stars and Sparks did throughout their amazing Finding Nemo KIDS performances! What a spectacular weekend of underwater adventures at Genesis Theatre.
Double Feature Debut
This production marked a special milestone for our youngest performers - their very first double feature experience! Not only did they master the challenges of Disney's Finding Nemo KIDS, but this was also their third time on stage this season after joining our Junior Company in Seussical Jr, and of course The Lion King in November.
Watching these young students from White Rock, South Surrey, and surrounding areas take on the challenge of multiple performances showed incredible growth in their musical theatre training. From our tiny Sparks to our Rising Stars, every performer embraced the opportunity to bring Marlin, Nemo, Dory, and the whole underwater gang to life.
Growing Through Performance
The dedication these young performers showed during their musical theatre classes and rehearsals was remarkable. Learning songs like "Just Keep Swimming," "Fish Are Friends Not Food," and "Go With the Flow" while developing character voices and underwater choreography - that's no small feat for performers their age!
What impressed us most was watching them support each other throughout the process. The collaborative spirit and genuine excitement they brought to every rehearsal reminded us why musical theatre education is so important for young people.
Family and Community Support
None of this magic would have been possible without our amazing Smash Theatre families and volunteers. From costume help to backstage support, photo opportunities to enthusiastic audiences, our community truly came together to celebrate these young artists.
Thank you to everyone who attended our performances and helped create such a supportive environment for our Rising Stars and Sparks to shine. Your cheers and applause meant the world to these young performers.
Swimming Toward the Future
As we celebrate the success of Finding Nemo KIDS, we're already excited to see how much these talented young performers will grow next season. The confidence, teamwork, and stage presence they've developed through their musical theatre classes this year has laid such a strong foundation for their continued journey in the arts.
