Elf The Musical JR. Is Coming to SMASH This November
The secret is Officially Out
Elf The Musical JR. is coming to SMASH Performing Arts this November!
SMASH performers will bring this funny, energetic holiday musical to the stage at Genesis Theatre from November 27–29, 2026, adding an extra dose of musical theatre magic to the SMASH season.
Based on the much-loved holiday story, Elf The Musical JR. follows Buddy on his journey from the North Pole to New York City as he searches for his family, discovers where he belongs and brings a little Christmas spirit with him along the way.
With memorable characters, big ensemble moments, plenty of comedy and lots of heart, it’s a show that gives young performers plenty to sink their candy-cane-loving teeth into.
A Special Winter Production at SMASH
Elf The Musical JR. will be a special addition to the 2026/27 SMASH season.
The production gives participating SMASH performers another opportunity to challenge themselves on stage, work together as an ensemble and experience the excitement of bringing a complete musical from rehearsal room to performance.
And because this is Elf, we suspect there may be just a little Christmas chaos along the way. 🎄
Building Skills Beyond the Performance
Putting on a musical is about much more than learning lines, songs and choreography.
Throughout the production process, young performers practise skills including communication, collaboration, confidence, adaptability and creative problem-solving. They learn to take direction, support their castmates, make choices as performers and keep going when something doesn't happen exactly as planned.
Those are skills that matter on stage, but they can also carry into school, friendships and everyday life.
At SMASH Performing Arts, creating a great show is important. So is everything our performers learn while getting there.
